    Going anonymous for this.

I will have an oral hearing coming up soon for DA after i was initially refused.my question is what exactly happens? I have mental and physical problems for many many years and holding down a job is impossible as a result of these.#

    Thank you

    Thank you

You appealed the decision so you're being given an opportunity to put your case to an independent Appeal officer.

The refusal letter should have set out the grounds as to why your application was disallowed. You will need to argue against those specific points and produce any supporting evidence that you can get your hands on - e.g. letters from doctor/consultants if not already submitted.

You need to prepare your case carefully and rehearse it so it will come across as well as possible. It's advisable to have a written summary of it for your own presentation and so you can hand to the person hearing the appeal.

If you have problems presenting a case, you're allowed to nominate someone as your advocate; they can accompany you and put your case for you. If you haven't already consulted your local citizens information office then I advise you to do so asap - they can provide an advocacy service for people who are not in a position to argue for themselves.

    Just an update on this.

I have had my oral hearing, the appeals officer has told me he is allowing my appeal.

Been on monthly certs almost 1 year now, these will expire at the end of this month.

What is the next step in the process please?

    I currently hold a PSC card, do I get a FTP/Companion pass?

    No idea how this works.
