    Hi,

Looking for advice on opening up a new driveway to my property.
Living in rural countryside, existing driveway on to public road is directly in front of house.
Looking to close that driveway and open a new one on to the road further down the site .
Have gotten conflicting advice on whether this needs planning when public road is less than 4m wide.

    Any advice appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Remember, the measurement is not just the road. It’s the carriage way so boundary to boundary is the measurement.

You could lodge a section 5 and the council will tell you officially if planning is required.
