Ankle Injury

I have an ankle injury picked up playing soccer.

When walking I have no discomfort at all.

When I play soccer (5-a-side on astro) I will be fine for 30+ minutes but at some point in the game my foot will be raised and it might be because of the way I kick the ball, tackle or land on my foot my toes will point straight down or a heavy landing and my ankle will be very sore for the rest of the day.

I have had this problem for about 6-8 weeks, can't remember a specific incident to cause it so it's unlikely to be a sprain.

The pain is at the back of my ankle so possibly the tendon?

Has anyone here had a similar injury and what was the treatment process and recovery timeline?

    Thanks.

No one is going to be able to know over the Internet. Your best bet is to go to a good physio and get them to assess it, guide you on what to do to recover and how long it might take.

Sounds like an Achilles Tendon, but a physiotherapist is your best best.

One thing I've discovered over the last 30 plus years is that there is rarely such a thing as a simple ankle injury. Those seemingly simple, nagging injuries have a way of suddenly turning nasty and taking you out properly for a very long time.

Go to a physio or a doctor about this

I was getting sensations in my ankle when doing press ups and a week later ruptured by Achilles tendon playing football, not a nice injury at all

Mod note: no medical advice allowed on the forum, so please don’t offer any. I’ll leave the three open for the OP to solicit some Physio recommendations.
