    All,

What's the go too basic turbo trainer in 2018?
Need one for training at home, doesn't need to be smart just a basic one. Budget max €200.

The Tacx Blue Matic T2650 Trainer stands out but most reviews are from a few years back so not sure if it's still good?

    Any help appreciated.

    SC

I've the old Tacx Blue Motion. It's fine, but in no way quite so that's something to consider.

I got the Elite Qubo Power Fluid a few months ago and I really like it.

You would have to stretch your budget to €240 though.

I just bought a bikehut turbo, they are sold in Halfords for 60 Euro. It more than does the job for me for my first turbo.

    It has 6 resistance settings.
I picked mine up on Adverts.ie for 30 Euro.

I have a turbo trainer sitting in the shed, unused for several years now. Yours for a bottle of wine.

Generous offer thanks but it's a gift to me so will go with a new one on that basis.

I used my 10 year old Turbotrainer for the 2nd time during the bad snow last February/March.

Just a bog standard turbo and I couldn’t help smile when a friend posted a photograph of his “smart” trainer lying idle because their was a power cut!

Unfortunately my turbo trainer doesn’t need electricity! :)
