How many cards do you need in the previous year to qualify for cups and shields, I have 6 but only 3 of them are in my home club the other 3 are away scores....does this rule me out...

    Thanks

Personally I think there should be a minimum of 10 cards required to play in interclub competitions.

Go on golfnet.ie and search for rules of gui cups and shields.
Pretty sure it is 4 scores from any courses

    This is what it says...
player shall have, in the calendar year prior to the event, returned a minimum of four returns in
qualifying competitions (Supplementary Scores are not included) all of which must be recorded on the
handicap records of the player’s home club on or before 31st December

Not sure it's clear, must be recorded on handicap records of the players home club. Does it mean played on players home course...???

Just means it must be on ur handicap record of ur home club as opposed to a second membership u may have of another club

If you have 6 qualifying comps (doesn't matter what course) on your record for 2017 then you are 100% eligible to play in Jimmy Bruen

Not necessarily it can be qualifying with dropping from a plugged ball in the rough also

I downloaded my handicap cert and it said "total qualifying scores for cups and Shields in previous year 4", so I'd imagine that's fairly cut and dry...
