    Hi Folks,

Would the following investment be considered a basic or other financial instrument under FRS 102?

    Structured Deposit
    100% nominal principal protection
    Coupon Year 1 - 0.35%
    Coupon Year 2 - 0.35%
    Coupon Year 3 - 0.35%
Coupon Year 4 - 0.5% (depending on performance of underlying index, 0% if predetermined index level is not achieved)

In my opinion, it would be a basic financial instrument but the coupon in year 4 has me thinking that it may possibly be considered an other financial instrument.

    Appreciate all comments.
    Hcksaw
