Most of the original Murphy Brown cast are coming back for the revival.

Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto, and Grant Shaud will all return to reprise their characters of Corky Sherwood, Frank Fontana, and Miles Silverberg respectively. Only fellow core cast member Charles Kimbrough, who played Jim Dial, has not signed on at this point.

it will be more like the golden girls

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Will it be shown on Irish or UK TV?

The first episode was on last night.

Hmmm.... not great. It's very dated. I like that it was topical and anti-Trump (and anti-Fox) but the format (and script and acting) came across as dated and not very funny.

I think canned laughter is very 90s. TV has moved on since the original series and the revival is stuck in the past.

    Creaky.

I felt it tried to hard and it just didn't connect and the guess appearance shows that.

    Did anyone stick with this?

I see Candice Bergen has been nominated for a Golden Globe for it is that a sign it got better?

It's ok, but not a patch on the first time around, I think....

It's been cancelled again anyway, last episode will air before Christmas.

I think I managed 3 episodes before giving up.

I am not old enough to watch the original TV show. Is the reboot show good/funny?

You won't understand it unless you have seen the original series.

Is Avery, Murphy's son, in the show?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 907 ✭✭✭Under His Eye

Yes. He is a central character now.

We'll probably see a lot of Murphy's secretaries coming and going, like in the older episodes.
