I'm going to the US in a few weeks and thinking of picking up a kit (saving $70 on shipping). Everything I need should rack up to around $300.

Anyone got one? Any good? And any better alternatives?

If you're buying that in the states be sure to check that it's compatible with Irish supply. I'm not an electrician but high demand/voltage appliances in the US typically have 4pin sockets -2 live, neutral and earth. I'm not sure if it's possible to connect something like that to a standard domestic Irish supply without adaptive gear.

It's worth checking out in advance in case you end up with an expensive paperweight.

Edit: from looking at the website it looks like it can work here, just needs to be configured for Europe.

Yeah, the kit says "worldwide" so I'm happy enough it'll work here.
