    I intend on attending Ladies Day at Galway this year. Where would I start looking for a suitable dress? Something different but also suitable. I suppose the upcoming Royal Wedding will provide lots of inspo so just need to start planning next step.

    Agreeing, the Royal Wedding offered many good insights on how to dress elegant.
    How, and how not, to wear a hat;
    How much skin to show:
    and finally, stiletto heels at a race meeting betray a beginner: you can't walk on grass in them.

    Why would you be walking on grass? The entire of ballybrit race course is tarmac, with the exception of car parks. You can get little plastic things to put over your heels to help you walk on soft ground from the car to the the track. Then chuck them away. If you feel that you’d like to be in the running for best dressed, then don’t even attempt to turn up without heels.
