Currently working one day a week, maximum days I can work in this business is 2, is it possible to claim for the other 4 days?

Yep. The rule is that you must be unemployed for at least 4 days out of 7 consecutive days. And you must also be available for and actively seeking work.

Welfare use a formula to calculate what they call your "assessable means from work" and pay you the balance of the weekly JA.

The formula is essentially subtract €20 per day (up to 3 days) from wages and 60% of the remainder is counted as means from work and subtracted form Job seekers payment. So if the op is single, no children and working, for example, 1 day at 120 euro a day then the dole will say he has €60 of means from work and subtract that from a possible 198 payment.
