Solicitor for an online issue

    Hi guys,

Might be a slightly unusual request....

Does anyone know of a solictor (preferably in the Limerick area) where I could get some advice about an issue that has happened online?

I was a moderator on a site and in the last week or so, another member has been circulating lies and allegations about me. These allegations were sent into the management of the site and I discovered today that I have been stripped of the role of moderator. I was never consulted in relation to the accusations or given the opportunity to respond to them. I have no proof that the person was distributing the lies, but he was found being extremely disrespectful to another member and the other member had confided in me. I have kept that confidence ever since. But it appears that he may have leaked certain information in such a way that it appears it came from me.

I am not interested in getting my own back on him - that's not how I operate. However, I now feel that my reputation and good name on the site (which I have been a member for 10 years and a moderator for almost 3 years) has been completely destroyed. I am most annoyed by the fact that the decision was taken to remove me as a moderator without (a) notifying me that a complaint had been received and (b) I was not given any opportunity to respond to the allegations. I was aware of one allegation circulating and have subsequently contacted a third party who was implicated and she is willing to confirm that the allegation is completely false.

Can anyone advise if I have grounds or not and if so, maybe suggest who I could contact for some legal advice?

    Many thanks.
