Wasn't there always a very busy thread? Does nobody give a ****e anymore?

There was. It just died after the first semi final. It just seems no one dares, or cares to resurrect it, or even admit they are watching.

    :D

The 2016 entry cost RTE nearly 340,000.
Presumably it's the same every year.

I hope we have not paid 340,000 for the ear ache caused by our entry this year. Can't get the hype with this song at all. Absolutely awful.

The same as every other year I presume? Cyprus and Greece give each other 12 points.

All countries vote even if they don't qualify

Sweden and Israel up the top. Denmark and Hungary towards the bottom. Eurovision, you suck.

Atrocious joke from the Greek one.

Israeli song was atrocious in my humble opinion. Would have much preferred if Cyprus won that.

So will next year's one be held in Jerusalem? Might be a bit difficult...

    Wow that **** won.

    Utterly disgusting.

Irish well back. Commiserations to Ryan and co on the poor finsish.

Could quite possibly be the worst ever winner.

    A disgusting effort.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Well it seems that this thread was just as bad as the eurovision its self.

It doesnt have to be in the hosts capital city.

Didnt the Irish hold it in Millstreet County Cork back in 1993.

Wow, Bjork has really let herself go

Disgusted by the winner, not because it's Israel but because it's woeful

    Bloody awful song.

A glimpse of what Europe voted for at the end there. Austrian fella went to congratulate the Israel lass and one of the lads with her shoves him back and tells him to do one. Austrian fella tries again and he seems to grab his face? Tossers.

Farcical. Thought Cyprus deserved it...or at least I wanted to see her dance again.

Yeah Cyprus was good, especially when she was facing away from the camera

Even though it wasn’t the best song (but are any of them?), fair play to the UK entry for giving it her all after that guy had snatched the mic off her.

In the pre-recorded music video she does some of the song in the nip covered in glitter. She got my 12 points.

Spare a thought for Ryan and co too guys.

It can't be easy for them at the moment. A very disappointing showing.

Song just didn't go down well across the continent

We didn't get to the final in 5 years, and finish in 16th place this year, and you call it a disappointment? What?

Ireland was never going to get votes from Eastern Europe for obvious reasons. In any case I thought he sang far better the first night.

It's a surprise really. Seemed lots of hype after his semi. Was third favourite going into the final with most bookies.

Looking at the breakdown of the semis and he was 6th in his semi (4 of those ahead of him were the top 4 I think?). His points total from that were 11th out of the two semis overall and throwing in 3 of the big 5 coming in ahead of us we were in the right general area I guess on that basis.

Thought the Chinese and Russian scandal would have got a few more votes.

Said it after the semis tho that in the final the two dancers should have really jazzed it up - cheeky shift at the end of the performance or something would of had the place going wild :D

Shouldn't have had them in the first place. That kind of thing will cost you votes in the east.
