Seller only joined and has 2 sales. Don't think I'd risk it.

Let us know what its like, are they regarded as being any good? Replacement for a proper display?

Have a look at Oculus Go if you are looking for something to play movies/tv shows. It can stream from Netflix and Plex. Battery Life isnt great but happy with it apart from that.

Yeah the Go looks great for that. Thats not what I need this for though!

Reviews say yes but pricey (at $599 plus RRP) and like a 50" 720p screen with no screen door. So not a good screen replacement outside of games or for travel.
I'm going to use it for FPV on a drone.

Got it today, unopened and boxed, appears to work fine. Only "thing" is its a Chinese model so the manual is in Mandarin.
    Deal was legit.

What do you think of actually using it?

Will have to do that tomorrow, I just picked it up today. I can confirm it powers on and the earphones are larger than expected and the "band" across your eyes smaller than expected.
After trying to fly my FPV Race drone today (first time ever) I can see I will need a ton of simulator practice. I think I can use these as a HDMI monitor on my laptop with something like "Lift Off" and my drone controller.

I'm glad my suspicions have been proved wrong.

Did you get hit for VAT and does the box meet the Address pal dimensions?

I use ShipitTo (US based depot) and USPS for this one, no customs.

    On what its like:

    Pros
"Screen", ie the display (there is no screen..) is bright and totally unaffected by ambient light, as its beaming into your eyes.
No screen door at all, image looks crisp.
Two independant projectors makes it excellent at 3D reproduction (games or movies). Supports "Frame Packing" (the best, on Bluray 3D) and SBS 3D. Not sure on Playstation 3D.
The eye lens are independently adjustable for IPD and reasonable range too.
Also each eye lens is independently focusable too, excellent for people with glasses and eye issues.
You can look over or under the "band" to see the real world.
Its seen by any device as a HDMI monitor/TV, no software setup needed.
Still supported by Avegant, registered the Serial Number and updated Firmware over the phone app.
*It sits a little away from face for not as claustrophobic as VR headsets.

    Cons:
Image is not as large as billed. They said 80" at 8ft, but in practice this is 15" at a 1.2 meters.
I find the ear pieces and heatset too tight (though I have a large head..).
I couldnt quite get both lens to display 100% of the image, either left or right corners were getting rounded off.
*It sits a little away from face for not as immersive as VR headsets.
720p at the end of the day, while it doesnt look blocky thats mostly as the image is reasonably small. It did look a lot better than my 15" laptop doing 720p (mirror displays) however.
Takes a bit of time to setup physically per user.

    If would be good for:
FPV Quad/Drones, as outdoor light ability plus ability to look over/under the display is a legal requirement.
Playing games without disturbing everyone else or hogging the TV.
    Watching moves on a plane.

So not quite the "cinema in a box" its billed as, but definitely has some niches.

Thanks. The reason I'm interested is because I've a lazy eye so headsets with a screen are out so I can except the comprise.

    How much did ShipitTo cost?
Is it worth it compared to AddressPal

In this case not really, ended up paying $90 for this and a couple of other bits via USPS. Works better with more stuff as they store your stuff so you can aggregate it. You also have to self declare contents and value of the items.

You also get a selection of shippers which is good.
