    Hi folks

I have an interview coming up in gti Galway. I’ve never really done an interview job sence so I have no idea what to wear. When I enter I suppose their will be one or two questioning me, do I enter and shake their hands or what? I am totally clueless. I am nervous to say the least. What questions will they ask me, mostly about the course I guess? Do I have to bring any documents like JC results or anything like that.?
    Sorry if in wrong area

    Cheers

Dress smart casual at least. No tracksuit bottoms etc. (even if others do). If you have a suit and are comfortable wearing it, wear that. Make sure you are in plenty of time for the interview and find out as much as you can about it before you go in. It never looks good if someone is applying for a course they have no idea about.

Shaking someone's hand is a good polite way to start. If you offer your hand, they are not going to refuse it, but if nobody shakes hands, don't take it as a bad sign or anything.

They want to see are you suitable for a place on your course. They want to assess partly if you will be able for the work, but almost more importantly, will you stick at it. The last thing they want is to give you a place above someone else and then you leave at Christmas.

So, answer honestly about your previous education, why things did or didn't work out and why you want to do the course you are going for now. It will be more a casual chat than a grilling. Don't worry. They want to get good enthusiastic people on the course. Show them you are one of them.

I doubt they will ask for any results, but if you want to bring them, do. No harm if they don't want them. Better have them with you and not use them than need them and not have them.

    Good luck with it.
