I bought Sony tv on amazon for around 460 euro and Amazon did send it by an post.

When I go to track it this is what I get -

    Thursday, 3 May 2:18 PM
Possible delay in delivery due to arrival at incorrect carrier facility
    Ridgmont, Bedfordshire UK

    Tuesday, 1 May
Parcel has been handed over to the carrier and is in transit

Anyone encountered this before? Today it is 9th of May and I still don't have it and there is no tracking update at all.
Amazon is saying I should wait until 18th May and if I don't have it by than they can send a replacement.

It's the last thing I will buy on Amazon, hard to believe they won't use proper carrier to deliver high value items.

How much did you pay for delivery?

Had that one recently definitely an An Post issue and not an Amazon problem as the address was correct the parcel which was delivered to a post office (not my local) was signed for as delivered. I complained to Amazon, the item was redirected and when it arrived in addition to the full address plus Eircode that was clearly printed on the address label someone in An Post had ringed the Eircode and written it in large letters on the package - but An Post don't use Eircode :)

That parcel was only a working day late and the "Possible delay in delivery due to arrival at incorrect carrier facility" msg appeared after I'd complained to Amazon.

I could of phoned the post office but take the view its Amazons problem and as usual they solved it.

How could it be an an post issue? - An Post don't have any depots in the UK. They also do not collect from Amazon.

Amazon send bulk parcels to an post mails & parcel centre in Dublin and until it arrives there, it is entirely Amazon's issue and zilch to do with an post.

An Post were the carrier An Post tracking tracked it to a post office in the area where it was signed for as delivered, the address was my home address and not that of a post office, the address was correct and the same one that is used daily by my postman to deliver to me.

Who else do you think it could be?

yours might have been an anpost issue, but you were telling the op that their's was probably an an post issue when it simply cannot be due to how amazon are in control of the goods until such time they are delivered to the mails centre and an post not having any depot in the uk

An Post do use Eircode. Local postmen/postwomen don't (or didn't).

It is (at least so I've been told)used for sorting and address verification and by their parcels division.

So the Eircode will get the letter to your postman/woman but they'll normally just use the name and top line of the address.

They are integrating it though - I wouldn't mind the rumors that fly around.

AFAIK, Royal Mail has it until it gets to Ireland.

Until it gets into Ireland, I don't see how AnPost can track it?
