Scirocco airbag error message

    Hi folks.....got my 151 Scurocco last month. Airbag Error message on dash this morning.....I don't mess around with electrics etc and it was all ok last night.....any guidance would be gratefully accepted.

    You'll need to get the car scanned to see where the fault lies, at best it's one of the connectors under the seats and a cleaning of the connection will allow the fault be reset (very common) at worst it will be a control module or slip ring on the steering wheel (not as common)

    Without a scan though you are only guessing - where are you based ?

    Clock springs and the passenger airbag deactivation switches would be popular faults in them. Being 151 it might have a whisker of manufacturer warranty left?

    Probably unlikely given the age of the car, but it could also be a broken wire in the door wiring harness near the hinge.

    Had that myself a couple of years ago on a golf.

    As the others said though, only way to narrow it down is getting it scanned.

    Going to have the reseller throw her up on a yoke to have a look at it on Friday.....not concerned really....it appears to be the passenger one 😀
