Window regulator is gone on my 07 Ford Mondeo passenger hatchback. Main dealer want €363 just for a regulator!!! I'm told the motor is fine. This is madness. Car only worth 800. Where can I get a cheap one?

Where can I get a cheap one?

Not at a main dealer anyway. Generally parts don't get cheaper as cars age, that was probably a more appropriate price when your car was new and still worth tens of thousands.

Without trying very hard I'd say pretty much any scrap yard, or micksgarage.ie or eBay.

Have you checked anywhere on the internet?

I thought my audi ones were expensive at 200 or so from main dealer.
The country is full of Mondeos that age. plenty to be had second hand or even new from micksgarage.ie

First mistake was bringing an 11 year old car to a main dealer to supply and replace the part. They are fitting a brand new part and charge a higher rate of labour to fit it so it doesn't matter whether it's a 2007 Mondeo or a 2018 one.

Source one from a scrapyard and have a local mechanic fit it for a fraction of the price.

Buy a brand new replacement regulator without the motor from many sellers on a well known auction site. With basic DIY skills you can replace yourself. It consists of the frame and cable already fitted around the spindles. Don't buy the cheaper kits which require you to fit the cable round the spindles as too much hassle. Price around €20? Motor is simply bolted to the frame and plugs into the loom. 4 - 5 bolts hold it in place. Google it for reference. I did my rear door 2004 Mondeo recently and have also done Skoda all very similar process and price. The cables either rust away or get jammed in the spindles so very common problem.
Main dealer or any garage may leave the door seal in tatters as it is a fiddly job to replace the plastic/foam seal. Carefully removing what you need to will ensure better results and your time is free.
Go to a Ford Mondeo forum for plenty of advice and tips on this job.
If you cannot DIY then check the state of the door seal behind the door card after it is done by others as it my leak if fitted badly or be completely missing.
