Is anyone else listening to this? I'm wrapped up and sitting outside waiting for the performance to start. It's been a tradition I've had for a few years. Flask of hot chocolate, small bottle of something adult and a comfy chair.

Closest thing to heaven anyone could have :)

Same as that (except it's a smoke and a can).
I'm very West so will probably be one of the last to hear the start.
Derek was doing great but the other dude will probably liken one of the birds to Christie Hennessy just so he can promote his next 'tribute' show.

Ah now, Aonghus is a good presenter :D. But Derek is still the voice of the Dawn Chorus for me.

Shouldn't be too long for me to hear the chorus live. The birds in Dublin are starting now so the leaba will be visited soon :)

Minutes after typing the prev post it just went mad here. Got some of it captured on my phone. Nothing like down the country where there's a lot of trees. Lot of it was just waves on the beach. But still beautiful :)

It's time to bring Mooney back on to the afternoon slot. He's a positive upbeat guy, and he'll appreciate the job now that he has had it taken away from him. Compared to the constant depression, misery and preaching that is the Ray D'Arcy show - having Derek back would be a refreshing change in the afternoon. Imagine having a positive, upbeat, light hearted show in the afternoon. Especially given that liveline is before it.

Not a D’Arcy fan but I remember Derek hosting. He had a few good shows but was desperate for advertising that they’d be dealing with x on today’s show but then not cover it! Also, Derek used to give away 1000 on most days but think that now prob goes towards Ray’s wages?

Derek is always happy and Ray loves misery. Sadly, RTE loves misery so Derek out and Ray in

People who say that RTÉ isn't innovative with it's programming need to hear the Dawn Chorus.

Yeah. I'd go some way with that. Mooney however does have a constant list of his cronies on all the time. Can't remember who now but is it Brendan O'Carroll and the Eurovision? The beekeeper fellow?

But D'arcy is a misery fest. Constant cancer talk. Constant HSE. Constant abuse. Constant death and illness. Constant depression. It is absolutely beyond me how he earns such a high salary. I often wonder if someone else outside the top five or ten best paid broadcasters (broadcasters! chancers more like it. Broadcasters my asre) was put in that spot, I am supposing that there would be a massive and huge drop in listenership that would cause RTE to sink? He's that important?

I've had enough of all of them. One reason I turn to Lyric which sometimes is a relief. To blot things out I even turn to Rna G to try and see if I could follow a conversation or recognize words. How I love the Connemara blas. There is nothing like it.
