Which SIM Card? - Calls Home Included

Only

So we will be on an extended trip to the US this Summer and OH needs to be able to make calls home.
Last year we got a UK Three sim and it was great for Data and to be contactable but this time he needs to be able to call Irish mobiles while away.
We will be there for a month so trying to find the cheapest option.

Wow, that sounds great. I paid around 80 dollars for unlimited data and unlimited calls home at a t-mobile store.

I'm a bit of a noob here.

So if I was going to the states, should I buy one of these, shipped to my Irish address before I leave. Then when I get to the states, I pop that SIM into my phone?
