    Morning Richersounds,

I'm thinking about putting a home cinema system into one of the rooms in the house but I'm a bit clueless about what I need. I want a projector based set up. What would I need to get? and how much will it cost?

It'll probably be more towards the end of the year before I'm actually ready to pull the trigger on it but I'd like to know how much I need to squirrel away for it.

    Thanks,
    EC

    Hi EC18.

    Thanks for the post.

You would require a projector, screen, 5.1 speaker pack and A/V receiver. Plus all the cables for connecting.

If you let me know the budget you have in mind I can do up some pricing as there are so many options.

I don't have a budget yet :P I'd like to get everything sorted for around €1000 (Preferably less than) but I can work in or around that.

I think the screen may have to be reverse projection due to the room layout and position of power sockets (but can work around that if it's prohibitively expensive.

    Hey EC18.

For a projector you would be start at the Optoma HD183X priced at 429.00 Euro.
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201955-h183x.aspx

We would not stock a reverse projection screen unfortunately and they can be expensive.
For a normal screen Optoma have their 92 Screen priced at 119.00 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11803-optoma-ds9092pwc.aspx

You could add to the Yamaha's 5.1 home cinema system priced at 349.00 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202921-yamaha-yht1840.aspx

What sources are you going to be using to view your media as you will also require HDMI cables if you do not already have your own.

If you went a little better on the 5.1 system you could look at the Denon AVRX540Bt priced at 269.00 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202670-avrx540bt.aspx

Pair this with Elac Cinema 5.1 priced at 249.00 Euro

Let me know your thoughts on the above.

    Thanks Kenny,

If I was to push up the budget would it be better to spend it on a better projector or the upgraded sound system? Will most likely be using a combination of chromecast and games console with it.

Thanks I'll be back in touch in the September ish to get the order sorted :)

    Thanks for your help,

    EC

    Hey EC.

If you went up in price on the projector you could improved the image quality greatly.

Even with a jump to either of the Benq W1050 priced at £469.00
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202953-benq-w1050.aspx

Or the Optoma HD143X priced also at £469.00. You would notice a difference over the HD183 even thought the 183 is a great starting point.
