Hello all,

Does anyone know what the limit is to ask that an Estate be settled under the Small Estates Procedure?

My grandmother died a couple of months ago. She didn't own any property. She had several life policies with a Scottish company. The value of them is €12K. We asked about the Small Estates Procedure but the company are still asking for Probate. The limit for the Scottish Small Estates Procedure is £36K.

I'm just wondering what the Irish limit is? And in what jurisdiction would the claim be made?
