There's a lad going up the Nangor road every day with one of these:

I was wondering if it is legit to wear on in Ireland.

Why would it not be legal?

You should see the security company using rebranded PSNI jeeps so.

Why wouldn't it be? It just says polite on the back.

Hard to confuse it with Garda I thought.

Possibly if you're thought to impersonating a police officer.https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/illegal-wear-polite-high-vis-1181866

Most folks have more to worry about than whether or not having the word ‘Polite’ on the back of said vest is legal in Ireland.

It is, by the way, perfectly legal.

And it’s also equally funny and truly pathetic that it annoys you so much.

Hi OP, if that makes your blood boil, you don't have much worries in your life.

    Swap?

    Fake News! FFS.

The Nangor Road is in Ireland.

Also, ‘Polite’ looks nothing like ‘Garda’.

Its perfectly legal, its a U.K. product and it is legal in the U.K. as proven on Dragons Den.
My initial reaction to Nicky Fletcher and her hi-vis clothing and accessory company, Equisafety Ltd, was that this wouldn’t light up the Den. But she proved me wrong, securing the £100k investment she wanted.

The company makes clothing and accessories for the equestrian, cycling, motorbike and canine markets. Currently selling worldwide, her success made an impression on the Den.
One concern shared with Kelly Hoppen was over the appearance of her ‘Polite’ range, which looks like police clothing. The design guru questioned whether Nicky had experienced any problems with the Police because of this.

"I thought of the idea in 2010 and I went to ACPO and asked if it was ok. I gave them an array of designs and they said it was fine. There’s no way I would be pushing this if it was illegal." - Nicky Fletcher.

Could be Dutch? Is there a Nangor Road in Holland?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

It’s usually motorcyclists not the much hated cyclist that wears these. Do car drivers hate motorcyclists too?

Car drivers hate anyone who can travel faster than they can in traffic.

We dint have police in Ireland , we have the Garda Siochan. Unless you wear in within the Airport or Harbour then you are not close to impersonating anybody in Ireland

I've seen them on horse riders as well. Don't have any issue with people using them tbh.

Except they're worn by motorbike riders, not cyclists.
