    Hi there. Any ideas what type if bush this. It got damaged in the snow and has some flower on it but from the pictures will it die. Am I better off digging out. A pity as provided some privacy thanks

    Looks like a ceanothus which can be hardy as anything for years, then suddenly take exception and die. It might respond to you cutting out the dead bits, but my experience has been that once it decides its had enough it will die anyway.

    OK thanks for the advice. yes have had a few years. I have cut a few branches away but the main trunk is split. Its a pity. I'll try and replace with similar
