Do we need to register as an tax agent in Ireland

    Hi,

I'm working for a tax agent in the UK and we have a client for whom we need to do two monthly VAT returns.

First of all the client has to remove his current tax agent and as far as I understand he needs to do this via ROS or as Revenue just told me post (he is in Australia) and get the agent link removed.

Then he needs to appoint us as his new tax agents, but for that we need a TAIN number and I'm getting it can't be the UK one. So will we have to register as Irish VAT agents and how do we go about that? Can we do this online?

I guess once it's all set up we can register online and simply do the VAT returns online?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
