    Well, How Ironic is this
    Purchased the Vax P86-P2p on April 1 - 2015
Last Friday it died a sudden death while I was using it. Not bad value for 80 quid sterling I suppose.

    Anyhow, Onwards and upwards.
I will be replacing it SOONish
First things first, Car insurance renewal in the next few days and a few bits to be bought for the house and that. So pressure washer will be on the long finger for now.
I am wondering, How many would say stick my neck out and go the extra mile and buy a Kranzle?
Are they REALLY worth the extra?

Have the Kranzle K7 and it's a great bit of kit. Definitely worth the money if using it quite often. The one I have I got 2nd hand and at a good price for it's use. But if I were buying brand new for mostly regular washing of the personal fleet I don't know if I'd justify it...won't be disappointed if you do get one though!

This was down to £99.99 recently and worth keeping an eye on for when it drops down again:

Nilfisk make some great power washers for modest money, have one about 7 or 8 years now and it's still going strong.

    Thank for the replies.
Mostly be used once a week possibly once a fortnight to wash the car,
Will be used for footpaths and patio as well.

I still think I would like a Kranzle.

    So Curran,
What would I need to look out for?
    Litres per minute/hour?
    Bar ?

    Also
Just say it uses 450 litres per hour flow rate.

I would need to use my hose and fill a 5L/10L drum while timing it to do a calculation.

Supposing I only had 380Litres per hour flow rate, how would that affect the washer pressure output?

I was looking at power hoses a while back and from talking to suppliers, the flowrate being supplied by the hose being less than the duty rate can affect the pump life. When I was buying mine, the supplier wanted to know the flow rate in the taps, if it was mains or well, how far I was from the main mains, etc.

For your case, the pump is trying to pull 450l/hr and the supply is 380l/h, the pump hasn't enough of of supply. That can shorten the pump life as the pump could cavitate and the bubbles collapsing shock damaging the impeller.

    Well
    Did a timed test yesterday
Attached the hose to the tap
Removed the end fittings from the other end so as have an open end hose for flow.
Turned on the tap and allowed and air bubbles to run out.
Once normal flow I hit the timer on my phone while at the same time put the hose in the bucket.
I had already marked a 10 Litre point on the bucket.
It took 1 minute ans 4.6 seconds to fill to the 10 Litre mark
So what would this give per hour?
    10/say 65 seconds?
    then X 60 X 60 = 553.8 Litres per hour?

    Jeez,
    I was miles out.
    How did that happen?? :pac::pac:

So, would it be safe to say a washer with 500 L/ PH would be maximum safety limit for me?
Though on saying that I will most likely be using a water butt from next year.

Took the plunge and bought a Kranzle 1050 TS
Havent used it yet as nosey neighbours might not take too kindly to me washing my car in this dry weather.
    As for the machine..!!!
27kg weight, Glad I got the TS and not the P version with no wheels :)
Will post back when I test it.

    I got one.

    It's 1400W, €59.99.

Adequate for cleaning car, patio, deck, etc.

Probably not as powerful as a Karcher, but enough for my requirements.

There are a couple left in Aldi Terenure.

    Best decision ever,
Loving it, though I have only used it a handful of times, but it is much quieter than any I have owned and the pressure is excellent from it.
Would advise anyone go the extra mile and buy one.

Hi all, slight hijack as it doesnt justify another thread.

I think I've missed out on the Aldi pressure washer but noticed Lidl have one from tomorrow - its 100w less than the Aldi one but I'm only planning to use it for washing the car so I'm thinking it should do the job?

3 year warranty is also pretty attractive and its nice and small.

    Cheers

EDIT: just saw it mentioned on the general chat thread, Nilfisk 110 from Amazon it is then

Nilfisk 110bar power washer price drop on Amazon. £65 from Amazon, or £60 from a shop on Amazon (free shipping but likely need to use pm or pw)

Bumping this thread, just bought my first black car and haven't put a drop of shampoo near it for fear of swirl marks.
So I have been looking at Nilfisk washers for the last week, today on Amazon they have a E145.4 on sale @ 189 with free delivery. Is this an OK machine?
It'll be mainly a car and occasional driveway cleaner and it has the induction motor so should run a bit cooler than the air cooled ones.

Seems a bit overkill IMO. I bought this in May for £56. Great pressure. Cleans the cars great, and powerhosed the paths out the back with it. Worked out great.

Maybe others can advise as to any advantages in the power washer you listed, but the 110 bar one I bought seems more than adequate for washing cars and the odd driveway job. If I could change 1 thing, i'd want a slightly longer hose but I can always buy a longer one if I want (your listed one is 9m vs my 5m).

I saw that and also wondered about the 1-3 months delivery.
At that rate my black car will be a fetching shade of mud brown.

I ended up buying a Lidl Pressure washer, less than €60 and I just needed to get the car some way clean, bought a snowfoam sprayer and a bottle of BH Autofoam to get me out of dirtville for the moment.
