    Hi,
I am thinking about importing a E92 M3 from the UK. It has 100k miles and is in decent nick - worth circa 15k stg. Any idea of the VRT I would be charged, the E92 model was removed from the VRT site about 6 months ago.

A chap I know on another forum paid nearly 10,000 euro on an 08 one, it seems to have shot up recently and he was alarmed as he expected around the 7k mark.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you decide the VRT is just not worth it. Can you return the car to the UK or sell it to a dealer/greater fool in ROI? Are you on the hook either way as your imported it in the first place?

No, if you managed to find someone to buy it then the VRT is their problem. Plenty of people sell UK/NI reg'd cars in Ireland everyday, who ever buys them sorts the VRT themselves, nothing comes back on you.
