    Morning all,

Have to change engine in my 08 Navara.
Mine is an automatic, does it matter if replacement was for manual?

Also as long as d40 engine does year of replacement matter?

    Thanks for help.

As long as you're replacing just the bare engine then there'll be no difference between an auto or manual engine.

I couldn't comment on whether there's any differences between d40s depending on year but again in the case of just a bare engine I'd imagine they'd be much the same.

However are you sure it makes economical sense to repair it at all. Has yours any rust? Also the bare engines are dear enough and scarce and not that reliable. They're certainly a chancey enough lump to be buying on the cheap.

Personally I'd just cut my losses.
