    Hi,

Is money made out of commissions (internet marketing) liable to income tax or instead is it liable to VAT or is it both?

    example:
Sole trader resident in Ireland makes 10Euros of commissions off of a product an italian customer purchased on a website from a company registered in Spain. The company sends the sole trader 10 EUROS (the product could have been sold for 100E).
    - How much goes to income tax (assuming lowest band)
    - How much goes to VAT (assuming none is charge from the Spanish company)

    Thanks

    It's liable to income tax.

I don't think the Irish agent has a VAT issue. The Spanish seller will presumably charge VAT to the Italian buyer, but the Irish agent is out of that particular loop.
