I find celebs pushing their opinions around very annoying but when you make a statement like that Britain should vote again but never acknowledges any of the concerns of the British people just shows him up.

Is mr Klopp suggesting that the EU doesn’t have to make any changes and it is the UK who should be given the option to chnage their mind?

    Tell us what you think.

Fella must have an issue with democracy or something.

    Tell us what you think.

I think Mr Klopp should acknowledge that there is different views that should see both parties make changes if he wants the UK to stay so bad.

Francois Hollande the former French President says he doesn't want the UK back in the EU.

Of course, he also hates democracy. France what a federal Europe.

Surely he is entitled to his opinion? Free speech and all that???

    It's actually Herr Klopp.

So what’s annoying After Hours today? Is it the feminists, the Muslims or the travelers?

Juergen Klopp? Well it’s something new at least.

Kloppo can say and do whatever he wants though. If I came home from work and caught him in bed with my wife, I’d tuck him in.

God forbid that a football manager is an actual person with an opinion..

He never backed up his view. He just said they should be given the chance to stay. Eu had no flaws for Jurgen it seems.

It’s not like the Germans to show up in a different country telling the locals what to do...

Please do explain how he "pushed" his opinion? Do people with opinions, whether celebs or otherwise, not have opinions they are entitled to express?

Would you advocate removing opinions from celebs or curtailing them from expressing them? If so how would you define what a celeb is?

What’s he right about. The EU should also make concessions to the British, they are not even acknowledging why they wanted to leave and just seem to be doubling down.

Giving a fairly benign opinion based on common sense is "shooting mouth off" now.
Fella must have an issue with democracy or something.

The referendum was advisory and non-binding. The Leave campaign was based on mistruths and scaremongering.

Makes perfect sense to consult the people again with the above in mind - those who insist that a hard Brexit must unquestionably be followed are the ones who are far more anti-democratic.

He is saying that 52% of the British public are wrong yet never acknowledges that they may have some legitimate concerns about the EU.

Ah c’mere are you seriously going to go all ‘citation needed!!!!’ on a football manager?

You should stand outside Goodison Park and scream for Sam Allardyce to come out and ‘debate me bro!’ At least there’s a chance that he might, especially if you bring gravy.

Democracy that seems to have been completely undermined by Leave s use of Cambridge Analytica

Were they saying mistruths when they said the Eu wanted a federal Europe and was it a mistruth when they pointed out the EUs communist tax harmonisation plans.

" The EU is not perfect but it was the best idea we had. History has always shown that when we stay together we can sort out problems. When we split then we start fighting. There was not one time in history where division creates success. So, for me, Brexit still makes no sense

Given that the entire Brexit campaign was based on lies, jingoism, egregious ignorance and Europhobia, this request reminds me of that Dara Ó Briain clip (starting at 3:20), "For the sake of balance..."

    Um...

Sorting the problems would be given solid guarantee that they will not do their federal Europe and tax harmonsation would be a start.

Was the tax harmonization and plans for a federal Europe all lies?

But do gypsies give Princess Dianas ghost AIDs? (something more likely to find in the Express than EU logical thinking)

Quoting an article quoting Doctor Russell Foster from the Department of European & International Studies at King’s College London

These things haven’t gone away, it can go to one of two directions – it can go backwards towards the EEC or it can go forwards to some sort of the European federal empire.

“Macron is pushing for one of those, the rest of Europe is pushing to go back.”

Also unless you have been in a cave you might have seen Macrons speech in it recently.

Did he say the Brexit vote was "a useless result" and complain about Leave's pitch being too dry?

The world and its mother can see who's losing here, and it isn't that guy's side. And it won't be his side.

Those aren't arguments, they are words.

Would you care to flesh them out for us? How do you think those 'words' would be affected by a federal Europe? Or tax harmonization?

    Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Or don't know? (I'm kinda leaning towards this one at the moment)

In terms of Brexit, Klopp is pretty much right, on all he said. It was that close, and the two main leave campaigners did step aside, although 'ran away' would have been a more accurate assesment.

But then if Klopp said the earth was flat, and the sky was pink, I would nearly listen to him, and beleive him as well. He is the most articulate, and interesting of all the English Football managers to listen to.

Won’t work. There’s no big physical target man up there to hold up the ball and bring others into the play.

Was at a Q&A in the Lighthouse cinema this week and the director was asked a question about the film and started prattling on about Brexit. Just arrogantly assuming everyone there would agree with his dismissal of those that voted to leave. He's Irish and the question was about what it was like shooting a Zombie film in Dublin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭BeerFarts

You probably find celebs with different opinions to yours annoying, I doubt you're annoyed by those you agree with. They have opinions, it just so happens they get more attention because they're celebs or whatever. Get over it, whether you agree or disagree.
