    hey all
i am out of work 3 and a half years on Disibilty Allowance , and now have a doctors note to take up Rehabilitative work, do the local Intreo Office assist on seeking this work or do go looking yourself?

No you will have to look for work yourself.

    hey @splinter65

further to my question i have accepted a job offer working 40 hours a week , and my pay goes above the threshold limit on the DA site to keep DA, is it a good idea to get a Doctors note stating i am fully fit for work at this stage rather than Rehabilitation as i have no option but to take this job ,probably losing my DA,Medical Card etc

Are you truly fit for work?

If you are and you feel you are, go for it, but you will probably lose your existing benefits, including medical card, and will probably find it very difficult to receive da again, as another application is required, and it's currently very difficult to be approved for it

Is this not where the likes of EmployAbility or one of those Organizations would step in?

I think your entitled to keep your medical card for two years, and your free travel pass for 5 years. How did you get on Trixxxx? I am on Disability Allowance for last two years, although I wont be able to work full time, I could possibly work part-time if i got the right job, something which will allow me to stand but with no heavy lifting,
