    Mad they're all ex UK.

They are a funny spec with the low rent seats and dash inserts and roller skate alloys, yet they have heated seats, automatic parking etc.

I wouldn't say its stupidly overpriced as everyone knows golfs have always been strong money on the used market for wot you get but that's the appeal same as a polo wen you sell it on you get a portion of ur money back so u can buy something like an astra or Renault megane a bit cheaper but wen you sell it on you usually get eff all for it and nowadays the likes of a Toyota auris or honda civic can cost even more

OP, I’m not sure if you’re up to speed on the issues on the 1.6 TDI - especially with the VW emissions scandal ‘fix’?

It's stupidly overpriced compared to other Golfs compared to the newer examples I posted above.

That is a lovely motor and the right engine as well remember really wanting a golf and getting the mk4 comfortline low mileage and good spec had electric sunfoof and couple of other extras after a few days realizing how mundane it was and it was honestly the most unreliable car i ever had and I've had a few bangers but to the op the new golf are pretty good as far as comfort and driving goes

The 1.6 in the Mk7 isn't an EA189 affected engine. It also doesn't give EGR or injector trouble like the previous 1.6 in the Mk6, they are a far better setup although I think the basic engine is the same unit.

When I saw it was a Match spec I thought it was a Mk6 for some reason!

Yeah the Match was more popular in the Mk6. I could be wrong but I don't think you can get an Irish Mk7 Match?

Match spec is uk usually for run out models of polo and golf vw spec them well to entice buyers before new model comes out have been doing it since the 90s

There was an ““allstar” Irish spec that was similar I think.

You'd wonder why they Match spec'd the OP's Golf then only a year after that model was released and three years before it even had a mid life facelift.

I think Match became a standard trim level with the Mk7 in the UK as it was popular with buyers.

    omg

Its been the format vw have used for years with the match spec but in the past u got very little spec in a golf so maybe the match spec in the mk7 as bazz26 said is available right away to keep buyers especially as likes of Hyundai give lots of things as standard

Thanks for all the advise and opinions, Now i've decided to look at this car - same price but much bigger and probably better suited for the longer journeys:
    Passat @ 14950.00
    http://www.autopointmotorgroup.com/used-cars/Volkswagen/Passat/1.6-TDI/240947502402581/
    Any thoughts on price anyone
