Lads looking for a full set of kitchen goods - Cooker - Fridge - Ovens - Micro wave - dishwasher.

    All buit in.

    etc - Probably Bosch.

Has anyone looked at the exercise of bringing them in from North

    Delivery
    Exchange
    Range
If there is a saving at all

Sterling now at 0.88 per euro.

    Thanks for any feedback.

A number of things you need to factor in, when pricing between different outlets the quote should be for identical makes/model, will delivery time suit you should you be at work, do they have a competent installer should you require one and by buying down here you are helping to keep somebody else in a job, buying up North you will probably need to hire a van if you haven't one at your disposal and you could run the risk of discovering a damaged appliance when you unpack it, you might also discover that a small electrical retailer could do you as good a deal as one of the big outlets

Worth pointing out that Irish consumer protection is better than in the UK, ie you can often claim in the SCC here if the appliance is faulty outside of warranty.

I bought all my electrical goods up north about 6 years ago now. Saved an absolute fortune. They delivered down - no extra charge. Went for top end stuff , Bosch , Fisher paykel etc.
Dalzells of market hill , great to deal with I found .

I also went with dalzells a couple of months ago. Got all I needed much cheaper and delivered to the door free of charge. The only pain is the the website doesn't show prices so you have to request a quote, they reply fairly quickly though

    Thanks for that.

This idea of loyality to electrical goods shops is a bit daft - we have been fleeced for years in retail in Ireland.

How much are we talking % wise - I'd imagine most people are spending 3 to 4 K euro for kitchen goods - at least.
