If you believe in something it will work out eventually and I think nova believed in itself and had a great product and it was station for its listeners. Somebody must have advised them to change markets to gain market share and it has probably backfired seeing they kept the brekkie jnlrs fairly quiet....

Problem is they are supposed to be a niche station or certainly a station aimed at a certain genre of music. There is a finite amount of people who are into rock/guitar based music. They've been fixated on the jnlr's and beating the other Dublin stations and the only way possible was to water down the remit and appeal to a broader base.
They should have concentrated on their core audience and made a quality product instead of going down the road of this samey samey comedy duo sh!te.
Part of the blame lies with the BAI who should be doing more to ensure there is diversity on the airwaves. At the end of the day thats what the idea of this license was supposed to be. Not Today Fm lite.

I stopped listening to the breakfast show a few weeks after it started. Can't stand Kennedy and Hayes is doing the same stuff he did on the Strawberry alarm clock 20 years ago. He's one of those dinosaurs left in broadcasting. Switched to classic hits up to 10 even though Pj Gallagher gets on my nerves a bit. Music wise there's very little between the two bar a few exceptions here and there. I do put Nova back in at 10 for the rest of the day.

Marty is grand and is genuinely into his rock music but will conform to anything it seems.

Was working in someone's house a few weeks ago and they had 98 FM on and I thought I was going to go mad. As bad as Nova is, it's still the better option unless you can listen to Planet Rock.

All of the blame lies there, i was going to complain to them about the inappropriate material ( at 9am )on the Krankies show, but you have to complain to nova first....whats the point, Hayes would just take the email into the jax with him...and reappear with a grin looking flushed...

I tuned in yesterday to find them discussing the frequency of Lucy Kennedy's bowel movements (I swear, I'm not making this up). They even consulted Google Assistant to confirm if she was sh1tting at a healthy rate. They were literally talking sh1t (why break the habit of a lifetime).

Who actually listens to that sh.....

Is there not anyone else to complain to - that is not nova?

Toilet talk on that show seems to be a running theme, verbal diarrhea literally (sorry)

I tune in once a week to see if they're still there, and to see how much further they have sunk if they're on. Given the fact that neither of them are funny, they're resorting to toilet humour. The phrase 'Throwing sh1t at the wall to see what sticks' comes to mind.

seems their SH!t is as slippery as themselves so

The reason i posted that was because a friend was bringing her kids to school and while she was locking up the house the kids were in the car ..nova was on (she said it was the kids messing with the radio,) and they were subjected to filth about "words you cant use anymore"...but they proceeded with them anyway..she was disgusted at the content....
She's not on here ..but she's definately not a nova listener....

I can't have this show on in the car bringing the kids to school. It's all forced banter, inappropriate call-outs (like words you can't use anymore), celeb tittle-tattle, twitter polls and above all, very little music.

I took Nova off the six stations that come up on the roadio screen. I don;t listen to it at all anymore, mainly because of these two and the shift in music policy generally, and the swathes of self-promoting ads with that fella in that voice (most of which promoting this show). Sad, as it was a great station, and Pat Courtenay was growing on me. I get Midlands 103 now in the car, and Anne Marie Kelly plays loads of good muci in the morning and bar the fake Fenton voice, their drivetime show is mainly music, so it's a win. Less "banter" = good radio for the family

The "funny" man with their ads needs to be defenestrated, and any recording with his voice should be destroyed. He is one of the most annoying things ever heard on the radio. He's enough to change the channel on his own.

I'm pretty sure that's Hayes who does those ads? But yes, you're absolutely right.

No wouldn't think so! "We're worried about bob" those ads?

Lucy seems to pronounce everything that she say, she does something strange to her voice on this show.

As bad as Colm and Lucy are, on a Friday Rebecca is so annoying, she is so far up her own snowflake (first time i ever typed that word in its current use) a*se. I even think Colm cant stand her, 2 weeks ago he played 'she drives me crazy', i think there was a message there.

Some of her comments are terrible...she told Colm that he smelled!!

So, theres The Colm and Lucy show, then theres the Best of the Colm and Lucy show and then theres endless free plugs at every ad break and between songs for The Colm and Lucy show...why dont they just call the station Colm and Lucy FM and be done with it...

I think Hayes enjoys p1ssing on the Nova brand (or what it used to be) too much to do that.

Far from it, Ash. The JNLRs aren't painting a pretty picture at all. I wonder will they continue ignoring the cold, hard data, or allow Hayes to continue with his vanity project with impunity.

Did I hear them playing Ryan Adams 'Wonderwall' the day after his news broke on thursday - but Colm seemed to big up him as an artist and never actually mentioned any of the accusations?!
I only caught the end of the song and shyte talk after, unless it was mentioned beforehand?

Either way, I wasn't expecting to hear any Ryan on the radio for a long time!

    Jesus those pair of idiots.

They had a "game" whereby the two of them took the piss out of Donald Trump by finishing off his recorded voice clips with allegedly humorous rejoinders..absolutely cringe-inducing and all the more pathetic for having run out of material after about 2 minutes.

Did they think they were being edgy in some way?

    Simpletons.

It was on this morning. Between the two of them they decided Donald Trump was the "stupidest person in america" but Lucy let slip that she was jealous of his wealth.
