Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where can I get catnip? Well, I was thinking of getting it around here rather than ordering online.

    Thank you for reading/commenting

Are you wanting to grow it or buy it dried?

I don't mind, either would be fine. I want a little bit just to find out whether or not my cat would like it.

Just a quick Google and the results show that the first 3 online pet shops have various products.

So I'd guess you're nearest petshop?

To be honest didn't think it would be that common but I guess it is?
    * my cat is a redneck and not a stoner ;)

ANy decent garden centre should have plants - Nepeta Cataria - you can grow it in your garden easily (even in some large pots) - at the end of the summer, cut the growth back, tie it in bunches, and leave until very dry, then pull the leaves off the stalks, and crunch them into 'dust' and put into ziploc bags. Its a perennial, so will come back next year, and has the added advantage of very pretty purple flowers!

Interesting fact - did you know that kittens and senior cats dont react to catnip!!! :p

The first time I introduced catnip to my cat, she looked at me - then she 'discovered' what it was - wowser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes! Totally forgot about garden centres! Definitely will have an eye on them whenever I am in towns.
Thank you and that's an amazing fact. Would be too funny if a kitten react to it haha

Almost any pet shop has it, if they sell cat products then they have dried catnip, throughout my life I’ve had 8 cats, only 1 didn’t take to it. I just wish there was something similar for dogs...

If you find your cat doesn’t react to catnip, try some valerian products instead. To me they kinda smell like sweaty feet but oh my god do the cats go absolutely crazy for it! Also yeowww catnip toys are definitely the strongest ones I’ve cone across!

Bought some dried in a petshop as I was making catnip toys to sell on my market stall.. added a string and a large button to the toy so they could throw it around :D:)

Maxizoo sell catnip cushions. They’re about €3. Little squre cushions filled with catnip. My cat went absolutely mad for it. I kept it in a little clip sea bag after she finished playing and it could be re-used over and over again.

I paid less than that for a bag of catnip that made many toys. Once saw a very old cat rejuvenated,

We've tried to grow it in our garden but it never gets a chance to get established as the cat rolls over it and kills it before it has a chance to grow!

Tesco Clearwater have the dried variety in at the moment. My cat goes bananas for the stuff :)
