I was suspended from work for "gross misconduct" in Feb 2018 for which was admittedly my own fault but he offence was only brought to my attention at the beginning of March. The issue I have is that the offence occurred 25 days before it was brought to my attention.
The company did follow procedure and the suspension was with pay. The facts they presented were, for the most part were accurate but some parts were contradictory to their own procedures.

My question is, should the company, coining the phrase "Gross misconduct" have acted a lot sooner rather than waiting 25 days? Surely in a case of gross misconduct the suspension should have happened immediately or a couple of days later at most. Considering the time frame, would this not nullify the term "gross"?

The other part of this is that CCTV was also used....There were no complaints or witnesses so why would the company have even bothered to go back so far?
