Few questions about driving tester and driving test route after failing 3rd time

Hi, I failed my driving test for the 3rd time yesterday. The first time (Churchtown), I knew I was going to fail because I just did it to renew my permit. The second time (Tallaght), I got a clean sheet except for reversing around a corner which I hit the kerb twice so I knew I screw that time.

Yesterday was my 3rd time (Tallaght again). At first half of the test went very well an perfected manouvers. I got out of focus in the last probably 10 minutes of the test because I felt it is longer than usual. I also felt that it's stricter since the driving tester was there with his supervisor. The tester explained to me what I did wrong but I was surprise how many they are compare to the result I had 2 weeks ago. He said it was so close. I'm going to practice again and remember the mistakes I did so that I won't do them again on the next driving test. I think knowing the route definitely a help though I think I need to be more alert and focus.

I have booked cancellation slot as soon as I failed yesterday and it's Tallaght again as I am more familiar now with the area.

    Questions:
1.Did anybody pass their test while the supervisor is in the car?
2.Will there be a chance that I will be tested with supervisor again or can I request not be tested with a supervisor?
    3. Can I request the same tester (when I ring for cancellation slot) as the one that I had on my second attempt because I felt at ease with the tester I had on my 2nd? If not, will I get the same tester/s same as on my 2nd and 3rd on my next driving test?
    4. Will a different tester bring me to the same driving route as I have before or do they have a record of the route you've done?

Thank you so much in advance for the advises.

Thanks. Will I get the same tester in either from my 2nd or 3rd driving test for my next driving test? Thanks

You're overthinking things. Book your test and try your hardest. You should be able to focus on the road for the length of your test regardless of who's in the car.
The biggest worry I would have if I was you is you admitted you struggled to focus on the road for the length of your test. What bout every other time you will attempt to drive? Stay calm, stay focused.
If you realise you made a mistake try not let that have an affect on your driving.
I'm sure you'll be fine, best of luck with it!

    It's a possibility.
I did a test in Wicklow, failed it. Took the test a few months later in Tallaght and passed it.

A couple of years later I did a motorbike test in Tallaght, and the tester was the guy who had failed me in the car in Wicklow 3 years previously. He failed me again :D

So there's always a chance that you might get the same tester, especially if you're booking again quickly, but no guarantee of it.

The first time my daughter did her test it was with a supervisor. He was at least 6'2" and about 25st and he squeezed into the back of her BMW E30 coupe. She could barely see out the rear window with the fat fugger not to mention the rear suspension being in collapse mode. She failed because he made her a nervous wreck. It's nerve wracking enough for learners without having to put up with a someone testing the tester. She passed the second time but there is no way she was going to allow a supervisor again. I don't really know if you can object but it shouldn't be allowed IMO.

Did she do it in Tallaght? If she did, the supervisor might be the same one who is with the tester when I did my test. He was fine though but I was completely shocked when the tester told me that the suspervisor will be coming with us in the test. I just really hope I won't get the supervisor again! I think it's harder to pass with surpervisor.

Oh goodness, are the testers doing rotations of different test centres? I just book my test straight away after crying for failing. I think it's a matter of luck who you get as the driving tester and can different tester can be subjective on how a learner drive.

Glad you passed your test. I hope I would as well. I'm really jealous now of drivers who have N plates in their car.

Thanks a mil for the advices. I did booked my test as soon as I come home feeling upset after failing. I am actually fine driving if it's not a driving test. My husband told me that I'm better driver than my sister-in-law who passed her test after 3rd attempt. He told me that he won't be going with her if there's any other driver in our family :D

I supposed it's my nerves that day due to supervisor being there and just my expectation about the length of driving which is different from the 1st & 2nd attempt.

I was thinking would it be better if a learner failed, he/she should be only tested to the things he/she get marked for because we learners spend a lot of money on lessons, test and booking every single test which is very subjective.

No it was Kilkenny but I’d imagine the supervisors get around, you know, mileage, travel expenses an' al' tha

I did 3 tests in tallaght, even though there seems to be 6 common enough routes, each time I went the same way. All 3 different testers.

To be honest, you shouldn't get hung up on which route is being taken. Although It helps to be famaliar with bespoke junctions in the area, or particular sections you might get caught out, overall you need to learn to be able to read and act on those without impacting your driving.

Also, have you not caught up with an instructor since and asked them to observe you? Might give you some work ons. The test itself isn't about being able to make the car move, its how you do it.
