I am planning to put up a flat roof. Construction will be:
joists, 12mm OSB, vapour control barrier, rigid insulaton, 18mm OSB, top finish

My question is about the vapour control barrier. Can I use 'damp proof membrane' and will it do the same job?

I have a good bit of 'DAMP-PROOF MEMBRANE 1200GA BLACK' left over and if it is ok for roof use it would save me buying something else

    absolutely not !!!

a DPM is a 'vapour barrier'
you need a 'vapour control layer' which is actually vapour permeable in some conditions. A DPM is never vapour permeable.
