I need to replace a short section of 3/4 inch copper. Given that the pipes are securely located and cant be piush and pulled / moved around at all, is there a slip type compression fitting available - I mean a fitting that can be pushed fully onto one side of joint then slid back to centre over the joint? or is there a reason why this shouldn't be done?

I seen plumber file centre out of fitting before in a similar situation.
