The fences in my garden are all the typical rusty red colour.
I want to paint it green.

I bought some green fence paint which worked fine on the new unstained wood but doesnt work on the old red stuff.
When the green dries it mixes with the red and turns a kina purple colour.

Thankfully i just tested it on a small section first.

Can i apply thing to the red first that will allow the green to work?

Powerhosing the old paint off will work. It's a messy job so get the wet gear on and eye protection as stuff will hit you in the face.

Hi, After powerwashing, I suggest that you get masonry paint in your chosen colour and mix with 1 litre bonding. Johnstone's will do it for you. Sticks like glue. Any colour you like.
