We have a decent size balcony but its lead-leined and would like to tile over its dull look. Was wondering if it were possible to add some form of screed on top and then add our tiles?

<edit>Sorry, didn't think about the "lead" part before replying!

Thanks, I'm looking at leveling compounds at the minute. I think it needs it to create a base but I was wondering if it will hold to the lead okay and not break off in the future. It won't be heavy wear, just the typical use that Irish weather will allow us.

Thinking about it more, I don't think it'll be possible. You're right about sticking to lead, can't guarantee tiles will hold. What about applying some oil to bring up the finish? Might get rid of the dull look!

I've picked up a can of this actually - Here
It might do the job to create the grip required

Not really, much at all but good idea to factor that in
