Washing machine warranty

    Bought a washing machine in an expert store with 2 years guarantee however whirlpool generally offer 10years parts when its registered, however store failing to honour this it was bout 5 years ago. Anyone have any advice on this the parts will cost 220 euro otherwise

    Have you spoken to whirlpool direct, its rarely the shop that would do the repairs, normally a nominated repair agent.

    I think Whirlpool only started the 10-year parts thing in the past couple of years, so maybe it wasn't a thing when you bought the machine?

    The warranty is offered by the manufacturer not the retailer. The warranty is offered on top of your statutory rights & doesn't replace them.

    Your contract is with the retailer. If the manufacturer wouldn't honour the warranty in the first few years then the retailer would have to. At five years though the retailers responsibility has passed as most likely the fault is from wear and tear rather than from a manufacturer fault.

    Only option is to ask the manufacturer nicely & hope they feel generous.
