trying to understand the basis of EBI reports of heifers just wondering what would be the main categories within the EBI report that i should watch for and what figures would i need to have in a heifer that was going to be used for a high production grassland setup ???

The overall EBI figure is important but you need to concentrate on what the poorer areas of your cows are.

If you want to have a more compact calving interval, concentrate on the fertility figure.

If you want to improve their volumes, the milk KGs is the one to focus on.

If you want to improve their protein %, then the protein % figure is the one to concentrate on.

But I reckon the overall EBI figure strikes a good balance between fertility, production and overall management and is a good starting point.
