    Hi,
I'm thinking of a few days in Belgrade later in the year. Has anybody been? Any tips?
Is it possible to do a day-trip to Kosovo or Sofia?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,

If you are doing to Kosovo, be sure & have the plastic passport card for the border. There are still issues, Serbia claim Kosovo is their territory. There's no problem with the card though, it can't be stamped.
Kosovo is approx 5 hours drive from Belgrade. There's really not much to see or reccomend there .
Sofia is probably about the same distance from Belgrade, worth a day visit probably, nicer than Kosovo, but can be rough. It's the only place in the Balkans that I have felt less safe than others.

Belgrade itself is ok, I haven't been out there, it is supposed to be great for nightlife, I've only been there for work. It's a very big city, was interesting enough during the day.
Hopefully I will get back for the nightlife soon.

You could travel to Sarajevo from Belgrade, probably a bit closer. & quite interesting nicer city.

We were there a couple of years ago. Serbia was the last country of the former Yugoslavia we did.
It’s very interesting to see. We went on a few walking tours which were great and gave a good insight to the city. It offers great value for money.
We went with Lufthansa. If you need any specific information just PM me and I’ll reply.
We went one day by bus to Novi Sad which was enjoyable.
Word of warning though- I would avoid talking about Kosovo to any Serbs. They regard Kosovo as part of Serbia and are not happy (putting it mildly) if you refer to it as an independent country!
We’ve been to Kosovo and I highly recommend it. The people are among the friendliest I’ve ever encountered anywhere.

Belgrade is great craic, people are very friendly, it does look a big run down in places but don't let that put you off.

Checkout the floating river clubs (Splavs) :

Rent a bicycle and take a trip to the Fortress :)

Go checkout the Nicola Tesla Museum (It's a shame its so small but its pretty interesting)

Also checkout the home of Josip Broz Tito up on the hill

Very Eastern European feel to the place, I liked it anyways :D
