I have money to invest. Would Irish banks be a good investment. Surely with the amount of houses required over next 10 years and with increasing rates they are worth an investment??. Is now the time?

i'm an investor in the irish banks.

I've put money into BOI and PTSB. BOI as they are the best set up of the 3 main banks (lowest govt ownership of all). PTSB as a purely speculative investment (ie small amount i'm prepared to lose 100% of in worst case).

AIB are in the middle. Still a lot of state ownership (with further share sales due over the coming years. That could depress prices).

If you have a legitimate reason/belief to buy irish banks...then why not. But just be sure of what you are doing...and not cos some punter on the internet thinks its a good idea.

    Do your own research!
