    Checked this:

    https://www.aerlingus.com/travel-inf...-within-europe

Seems to split the booking process for regular Aer Lingus (ring cargo) with Aer Lingus Regional (ring us).

Rang the number and the lady did not know what to do.

Anyone have experience with booking a pet on AL regional?

Maybe chance asking a local travel agent to find out for you? It may end up costing you a few extra euros for the flight but at least you will be 100% sure when booking and will have something to fall back on if things don’t go to plan.

I’ve flown twice on Aer Lingus regional with my last dog. This was about 4 years ago. As far as I can rememeber I booked online and then phoned reservations and let them know I’d be traveling with a dog. The dog has to be crated, mine was a 3kg yorkie so easy enough. There was a charge too but it wasn’t huge.
She was picked up by a member of staff once I checked in at the airport, and during the flight she was kept in the passenger section of the plane, with the air stewards. I wasn’t allowed to go see her during the flight though but the stewards let me know how she was. Once we arrived I had to wait in the luggage collection area... flying over to the U.K. someone physically brought her out to me.. however when I returned via Dublin I was waiting ages and no sign. When I enquired at the AL desk they said they’d find out where she was... next thing I know her carrier..with her in it.. is coming down the oversized luggage belt!!! Needless to say I put in a complaint.
other than that last thing the whole process was pretty straightforward.
I do think that they are limited in space for traveling pets and I remember comfirming with them before I booked that there was space for my dog... then I booked online and added her in by phone straight after.
    Hope this helps!

    Are you on twitter?
They're help team there are very responsive to queries, in fairness to them.

The boat is handy though, I've done it twice over the last 2 years now.

Stretch their legs in the harbour before hand, couple of hours and away you go again.

To be honest I think I prefer the ferry for the dogs, least you’re with them til just before you depart, and straight away when you arrive. I leave mine in the car for the crossing as find the on board kennels very hit and miss for cleanliness.. plus anyone can go in there before and after the crossing (at least that was the case last time I crossed.. perhaps it’s changed now). Mine love the car so it’s nice to know they’re somewhere they are comfortable.
