Amazon AWS Job Offer

I have been offered a position in Amazon AWS on their Cloud Support Team but face a bit of a dilemma in that the salary being offered is a drop on my current position. That said, the prospect of working with AWS in terms of long term prospects coupled with the fact that i would be working with some bleeding edge technology in the Cloud space sounds like a really good opportunity.

Does any have experience making a similar move and if so with the benefit of hindsight what would you advise.

Any information regarding working at AWS would also be of interest.

Have you tried negotiating with them? Did they ask about expected salary during the process? My first question when I talk with recruiters is salary as it's so important in the overall decision.

I've heard horror stories from American Amazon employees. No idea what the Irish operations are like.

I only recently heard about this website. Posting this link in case you've not seen it:

AWS, dunno what they are like to work for. Is it a big drop after all things considered like taxation?
