Any recommendations for good circlip pliers?

I've had a few cheap pairs of circlip pliers that have done the job but they have all been very disappointing and not worked that well; the main problem being on larger circlips when either the tips of the tool bend or can't get a good grip on the circlip holes.

I hope not to need any for a while but would like to get some decent ones (internal and external) ready for the next time I need them, so any suggestions. Last use as an example was removing and replacing the circlip on the wheel bearings on Ford Focus.

This KNIPEX 00 19 56 Set of Circlip Pliers 4 parts set looks tempting.

I have the above kit and have to say im not overly impressed with it definitely at the lower end of the knipex quality level. Have other individual knipex circlip pliers and they are much better. Were abouts in the country are you any decent engineering supply shops should have a decent choice to check out,

Thanks for checking that link out. I'm on no rush to buy so will look around. I've a couple of places to try that I know do Knipex so might be able to see what the quality of those is like. Have to say I was probably taken in by the carry case. On the other hand that set gets good reviews as do the individual circlip pliers. Another set I was looking at were Bahco but a lot more expensive. I don't even need a set as such just a decent pair of inner and outer circlip pliers that will handle circlips up to about an inch and a half in size but was thinking of treating myself.

I'm in the Sunny South East :)

Same area as me , murphys engineering close to the nct in waterford have a really good selection of knipex and normally pleasantly surpised with there prices. There not bad at all, just a bit disappointing in comparison to other ones they do.

I'll give Murphys engineering a go, first place I normally try is Tom Currans as they have a surprisingly good range of hand tools.

No experience of circlip pliers, but https://www.efox.ie/ and http://www.mcquillantools.ie/ may be worth a look

McQuillans do mail order to consumers. Not sure about Fox but worth an enquiry.

Fox seem to have an excellent range but I'd already looked at McQuillans and they only have one brand I'm not that impressed with.

They are in the same ballpark as the Knipex ones and on my radar.

If money was no object then the Facom circlip pliers that Fox sell would be the ones.
