Got Eir FTTH last year around this time on a 12 month contract.

Currently paying €75 PM for 150mbps. Usually get around 140.

Not very clear what the options are for switching using the same FTTH line.

Anyone have any experience switching or know about alternative packages?

The ISP you pick usually does that all for you.The choice on FTTH suppliers are very limited at the moment hopefully that improves as more get connected.

There is Digiweb they have a 1TB limit like Eir but wont charge you if you go over it but can cut you off if you go over it loads of times.pure telecom the same 1TB, Air wire have different packages 150mb with 1TB and 300 mb with 2TB and 1000mb with 4 TB but it expensive. Then there Net1 dont know there fup and same with fastnet.

Are Eir offering any retention deals to stop people leaving. Mine is currently € 75 a month and contract up in 2 months - It is due to jump to € 81 after the 12 months whereas Digiweb will do it for € 65 and you get the Friztbox.
Makes perfect sense for me to move unless eir offer a new deal.

    Looking at Vodafone.

150 mbps. €40 for first 6 months and €55 thereafter. 18 month contract. No landline.

Is that not SIRO as opposed to FTTH ??

Not on open eir infrastructure, only SIRO. If you've got eir now, you can't switch to Vodafone unless you have both wholesale networks available to you.

Looks like I can get both. Going to give it a go a see what happens.
Planning to keep both running for a while to see what SIRO is like.

You can find OpenEIR partners here:
    http://fibrerollout.ie/rollout-map/where-to-buy/

All the ones, that have a green house logo provide FTTH on OpenEIRs infrastructure. Not all may service you.

You can find SIROs partners here:
    https://siro.ie/siro-broadband-partners/

Again .. it depends on where you are, if a partner covers you. That you can check here: https://siro.ie/roll-out/

There are at least 8 OpenEIR FTTH partners. There are also 8 SIRO FTTH partners. The only one not available yet is Sky.
