Explain 12v distribution panel switch please

Hi, I'm a campervan newbie so make allowances please ! On the 12v distribution panel there is a switch with 3 positions car / van / off. I know it's to do with the batteries. How do I use this ? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It's a selector switch for the meter display or maybe appliance power source.

Some of those fuses are the incorrect size.
