    Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask advice from someone who has good knowledge of Back to Education and/or SUSI.
I really want to start third level education. Hopefully this year if I can.
I've been out of the education system for a good few years now. I recently went to Citizens Info. for advice and I'm very glad I did because I learned a lot.

They told me that given my situation at present, If I intend to start third level in September, I would be eligible to apply for:
    1) SUSI maintenance grant
    or
    2) BTEA.

If I apply to SUSI, I would more than likely qualify for the special rate of maintenance grant which is €5,915.

I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could shed some light on which option would be a better help in trying to pay for a higher education.

    Thanks very much.
